Grounding into Nature, Self, & Community
As the trees release their leaves and the earth begins to slow, Fall invites us to root down, reset, and reconnect. At SOL, our Fall season embraces the rhythm of nature through the theme of Grounding—helping children and families settle into the new school year with presence, intention, and connection.
Together, we’ll:
-
Tune into the earth through mindful nature walks, observing the changes in our environment
-
Ground our bodies with movement, rhythm, and sensory-rich play
-
Anchor into creativity through seasonal crafts, nature-based projects, and imaginative storytelling
-
Root into community as children and families build relationships in a village-like environment

Wander & Wonder
In these early years, children are forming the foundation of who they are. They learn through their senses, through movement, and through relationships with caregivers and the world around them. At SOL, we honor this tender stage by creating a safe, enriching space for exploration, bonding, and gentle discovery. Through sensory play, music, storytelling, and time in nature, we support gross and fine motor development, emotional attunement, and early social skills—all while holding space for both child and caregiver to grow together within a village-like community.
0-3yrs

Imagination & Curiosity
As children grow, their imaginations expand and their hunger to understand the world deepens. This is a magical window where play is their language and stories shape their understanding. At SOL, we guide this age group through hands-on experiences that nurture curiosity, emotional intelligence, early academics, and social cooperation. Whether building with nature materials, making observations on the trail, or creating collaboratively with peers, children are empowered to express themselves, solve problems, and see their place within a larger community.
4-7yrs

Exploration & Discovery
Children at this stage begin to seek deeper meaning, ask big questions, and crave autonomy in their learning. They are ready for more complex projects, collaborative challenges, and opportunities to lead. At SOL, we meet them with a balance of freedom and guidance—encouraging project-based learning, journaling, nature observation, and creative expression. Through meaningful work in the garden, environmental stewardship, and community projects, this age group develops confidence, responsibility, and a strong sense of self rooted in purpose and connection.

Stages of Growth
Root to Rise
play-based learning, ages 0-7
Guided by the rhythm of the season, our twice-weekly program offers a nourishing blend of hands-on learning, creative expression, and nature exploration. Through sensory play, song and story circles, seasonal crafts, mindful walks, and free play, we guide children in exploring the world around and within them—nurturing roots of connection, curiosity, and creativity.
Designed with intention and care, our program now offers a split group format to honor the developmental needs of two age groups, while still nurturing the magic of community connection.

For our littlest learners, the morning begins with open-ended sensory play, seasonal crafts, soulful songs, and enriching stories.
Grounded in a gentle rhythm, caregivers and children move together through experiences that awaken the senses, build fine and gross motor skills, and spark curiosity and joy.
At noon, we welcome the older group with a communal greeting before the 0-3s embark on a nature walk led by a teacher and their caregivers—fostering early observation skills and nature connection.
The older group reconnects with the littles just before their closing circle, sending them off with heartfelt songs of love and gratitude.

As the older children arrive, they're welcomed into a mindful opening circle where they explore the day's theme through sit spots, nature journaling, and seasonal storytelling.
With a designated teacher, they dive into deeper observations and projects that activate their growing minds and imaginations.
During our nature exploration, the children connect with the 0-3 group and become guides as they collect natural materials, make scientific observations, and lead nature-based investigations sparked by their own curiosities.
The final hour is reserved for collaborative projects, cooperative games, and imaginative free play, before ending with a reflection and sharing circle.

Soul to Soil
project-based learning, ages 4-10
*option to drop-off or stay*
At Sacred Forest Farm, each Friday unfolds with intention and rhythm. We begin by arriving to the land with presence, greeting the Earth and one another with gratitude. Through the course of the day, children engage in purposeful experiences that nourish both heart and mind: tending garden beds, crafting with natural materials, exploring forest trails, and preparing for the culminating Children’s Market.
Our time together invites children to slow down, dig deep, and connect meaningfully, with the Earth, each other, and themselves—cultivating knowledge, responsibility, and purpose from soul to soil.
